Meet Dr. Eddie Connor
Empowering people to overcome obstacles and walk in their unique purpose, is the real life message shared by Dr. Eddie Connor, who is a survivor of stage 4 cancer. He transparently shares his story of struggle and strength as a spokesperson for the American Cancer Society.
Dr. Eddie is an international speaker, college professor, Pastor of The Remnant Worshippers Ministry in the city of Detroit, and visionary of the Access Identity Conference which includes registrants from 24 states and 13 countries being empowered to increase their ideas, impact, and influence.
Dr. Eddie is a best-selling author of 18 books and shares his story in The New York Times best-selling book REACH: 40 Black Men Speak on Living, Leading, and Succeeding.
Dr. Eddie has spoken for the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the National Football League (NFL). He has been featured on ABC, BET, CBS, Ebony, FOX, Jet, Lifetime TV, NBC, PBS, The Steve Harvey TV Show, The Tom Joyner Show, The Huffington Post, Mentoring Kings, We TV, and USA Today. He has been a guest on The Potter's Touch and was an empowerment speaker at Bishop T.D. Jakes' MegaFest.
Dr. Eddie is an Emmy Award winner, co-starring in the film project Always Detroit Basketball. He was also featured in the acclaimed BET documentary, It Takes a Village to Raise Detroit.
Dr. Eddie is the founder of the mentoring program Boys 2 Books which empower young males via literacy, leadership, and life skills enrichment. As an aide to former U.S.
Congressman Hansen Clarke, Dr. Eddie assisted in developing a resolution (H.Res.721 - 112th) expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that bolstering literacy among African-American and Hispanic men is an urgent national priority. The resolution became the impetus for President Barack Obama’s, My Brother's Keeper initiative.
As a highly sought after communicator, Dr. Eddie speaks extensively at churches, colleges, and conferences by empowering people to maximize their purpose. Dr. Eddie Connor grew up in Kingston, Jamaica and lives in Detroit, Michigan.

Dr. Eddie is a recipient of The President Barack Obama Volunteer Service Award, The President Barack Obama Lifetime Achievement Award, The President Joe Biden Volunteer Service Award, and The President Joe Biden Lifetime Achievement Award from The White House.
He is recognized as one of the Top 35 Millennial Influencers in America, listed in the Top 100 Leaders in Who’s Who in Black Detroit, Two-time Spirit of Detroit award recipient, Michigan Chronicle’s Top 40 Under 40, and Author of the Year by Kingdom Image Awards.
